Sometime during 2011 an odd thing started happening to me. I would look at the clock and it would be either 11:11 or 1:11. At first, I thought it was just coincidence and a bit odd. I started referring to it as being “tagged” by the numbers. Some days I found myself being “tagged” all four times. I would even wake up in the night to be greeted by the 1:11 on my bedside clock. I often turn on my cell phone to be greeted by 11:11 or 1:11. I bought 3 gallons of apple cider and later noticed all had tags on the lids with the expiration date of 11 11. I have received bills in the mail with the minimum amount due of $111.11. There are countless things that have happened but I have to say the most profound experience was at my husband’s Grandmother’s funeral this last January. I was extremely close with Grandma, she was always more girlfriend than grandma to me. The minister opened her service with the following line, “Patricia died on 1/11 at 11:11 a.m. in the morning, I am not sure if that is supposed to mean anything.” My husband, well aware of my 11:11 issues, looked at me in complete shock, I had an out of body experience. Up late one night I “Googled” 11:11 to see if it would yield any results. Unbeknownst to me, I am not the only. There are people all over the world experiencing 11:11 and 1:11. The internet, being what it is, details many “New Age” type reasons surrounding what they refer to as this “phenomenon.” After extensive reading and stripping away all the New Age mumbo jumbo, there appears to be a common theme. It appears that people tend to see these numbers during a time of great change in their lives and many experience it during a spiritual awakening. I will say that this last year has been a time of personal awakening for me. I have spent the last couple of years cleaning out the cobwebs of my mind and have moved into a more creative space. Last night when I went to bed, it was 1:11 and when I sat down at my computer a few minutes ago, it was 11:11.
I see you 11. I hear you 11. When I see you DAILY I take it as a reminder that I am on the right path, remain focused and stay open to whatever might be around the bend.
