Sky Church

The church had succumbed to the weight of unanswered prayers.  It was dead, paint cracked, dark clouds highlighting the shadows where the pain and sorrow echoed.  How many times had she stood at the altar, expecting to be saved and protected?  As her inner wounds wept, her soul had collapsed.  Knowing who others were when God wasn’t watching, her dreams were replaced by nightmares.   Overcome by years of habitual worship, she quietly closed her eyes and whispered, “Give me shelter, for I am your forgotten child.”
